We've collected four do's & don'ts when it comes to brow color to help you get started with at-home coloring!
DON'T - Dye your brows without cleansing
The first and most important step when it comes to coloring your eyebrows at home is to start with clean brows. If the brows are not cleaned before application, there is a risk that the color will not stick or become uneven, as the brows may have oils or make-up residues left.
DO - Cleanse the area around the brows for even coloring
In order not to risk the color becoming uneven or not sticking, it is therefore important to clean the brows, but also the skin around them to achieve the best result. With the help of our Cleansing Foam, you remove dirt and impurities and also get in between the straws.
DON'T - Get Vaseline on your brows
Using Vaseline is a really good beginner trick when coloring eyebrows, but it's important not to get Vaseline on the hairs. If you apply Vaseline to your brows, you run the risk of the color not sticking, because the color cannot penetrate the greasy cream.
DO - Use Duo Brush for perfect application
So use Vaseline where you don't want the color to stick. Draw a line on the bottom, top and between the brows using our Duo Brush that easily creates straight, thin lines with Vaseline.
DON'T - Remove the brow color from both brows at the same time
Most people start by applying the brow color to one brow at a time. If you remove the color at the same time on both eyebrows, there is a big risk that the coloring between the eyebrows will be uneven, because the brow you applied the color to last did not have the same effect time.
DO - Clock the time between the brows
To be sure that the color will be as even as possible, it can be nice to watch the time between brows. Set a timer from when you applied the brow color to the first brow and start with the second. If the time between each brow is 1 minute, simply wait another minute with the last brow for an even coloring!
DON'T - Pluck the brows before dyeing
In connection with coloring the brows, many people also want to take the opportunity to pluck and shape them to maximize the look of the brows. However, plucking before the color treatment is not recommended because you risk getting color into open, infection-sensitive hair follicles.
DO - Pluck the brows after dyeing
If you want to shape/pluck your brows in connection with your color treatment, it is important to always do so after you have dyed your brows. It also makes it easier for you to be able to see your natural shape better, because all light strands are better visible, which means that you avoid over-plucking your brows.
